Welcome to RateNeighborhoods.com!
Founder's Note
One of the most difficult parts of moving to a new city, or even a new home in town is figuring out where to live.
There are so many different locations, and so many benefits and drawbacks come with them. While searching for a place
for my family and I to rent, I noticed that figuring out the flavor of the neighborhood can be difficult at times.
I thought to myself, "If only there existed a resource for quickly and efficiently determining what part of towns were
family friendly." That's how I came up with RateNeighborhoods.com. So please, take a look around. Enjoy yourself.

Idea
We at RateNeighborhoods.com have one core philosophy. The best way to figure out a neighborhood's flavor is by speaking with the locals.
So in the future, advanced features will be available only to registered users, and our registration process will require one review from
the user. This way, every registered user will be contributing to the collective body of information.
Features
The website is still in it's early stages. At this point, you can only view the layout of a city with all its neighborhoods,
and drill down to view the close up, more detailed version of that neighborhood.
Here's what we have planned.
- Search by address. This will allow you to very quickly determine where a property exists on our maps.
- Detailed ratings for each neighborhood. Where possible, we will be compiling statistics from census data. Otherwise, we'll rely on our users to provide ratings for neighborhoods they already live in.
- Advanced layers. With advanced ratings, more data will be available to display on the map. You will be able to graphically visualize a city based on crime ratings, school ratings,
traffic ratings, and much more.
So that's our introduction. Get started by choosing a
state. We hope you find our site useful.
